It is unwise to disclose the workings of a magic effect, for once the secret of a trick is known to others, the fun, entertainment, amusement, and mystery is ruined. It truly spoils the magical moment.
Patter or Story
Patter is the talk that goes with each trick. I do not like to use the word “patter”, instead, I use “presentation” or “storyline”. It should be carefully rehearsed so that the desired effect will be magical. It should be both interesting as well as amusing.
