Frequently Asked Questions About Kane Magic Entertainment Booking And Show Information
GENERAL SHOW INFORMATION
How big is your show?
My magic shows are not like our typical briefcase magician magic shows. The set-up is larger than what most people expect. However, it will fit in any size living room. I make the best use of the space provided with my equipment.
What can I expect from your show?
Each of my magic shows is an action packed roller-coaster ride filled with audience participation, magic, music, & mystery, I mean it because you deserve nothing less.
Do you use volunteers from the audience?
Yes we get volunteers involved throughout the performance.
How long is the show?
Each performance varies, but for the most part, you can expect the show to run about 45 min. to 1 hour. Anything longer could lose the audience attention.
What age is your show suitable for?
Our show appeals to and is suitable for ALL ages. The largest attendance will typically be mom and dad with their children. Every magic show is family friendly, and everyone is treated with respect from the magician.
How long does it take to set up?
For most of the performances, it usually takes about 30 minutes to set up equipment and do a sound check prior to show time.
What kind of music do you use?
Throughout the entire show the music will primarily be instrumental. Before the show during my set-up, I usually have music playing that is up-to-date and pleases most people.
If you have a particular song or a list of songs you would like to hear at the party or event, you can send me a playlist and I’ll try to accommodate you.
Where is the best seating located for watching the show?
This depends upon the venue, but up front row centre is almost always the “best”. As long as all of your guests have a clear view of the general “stage” area, one seat is as good as another.
Are we able to seat late arrivals or those who’ve come for the after-dinner show only?
Yes, just use your discretion as to disturbance of the audience while the show is in progress.
How many people can I invite?
The choice is yours. You may invite whomever you want and how many you want. It’s your party or event, so have fun.
How do I book you?
Simply call me so we can discuss the best date and time of your event. After that we will make out a “Performance Agreement” invoice. You can also contact me through my Contact Us Page.
What are the best show times?
By default, as outlined on our confirming agreement, we schedule our performances according to first come, first serve basis. Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays are typically the busiest days. But any day can be a great day for a magic show! Because of our travel time (1 hour between shows) from one location to another, any changes to the showtimes appearing on our confirmation agreement must be cleared with us in advance.
Is there a deposit?
Birthday party magic shows and corporate event entertainment shows do not require a deposit.
Is there a cancellation or rescheduling fee?
No. Due to our busy performance schedule, if you do have to cancel or reschedule, please give us advance notice.
When do you arrive?
The Magician Kendal Kane will arrive for an inspection and show set-up approximately 30 minutes prior to show time.
How will I pay you?
Payments are to be made in the form of cash or check after the performance.

WARNING:
Before You Hire Any Magician Or Children's Entertainer Read These Hiring Tips:
Hiring a professional children's entertainer or magician in Dallas / Ft. Worth or anywhere in Texas can either make or break a special event and it is a difficult task. You want it to be fun and extra special. Not all entertainers are created equal, and finding the right one for your event is absolutely essential.
Although there are a lot of great performers, I’ve put together a summary of the details you may want to consider when researching an entertainer or magician for your next party or event.
Here are some basic rules to keep in mind when you are looking for an entertainer in the Dallas / Ft. Worth area and throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas. Please don't overlook these important factors...
Before your event talk to your entertainer.
A true professional, top-notch entertainer will speak with you personally before your event in order to insure the entertainment fits your specific needs so that your guests are guaranteed the best possible event. In other words, don't book a performer just because they have a great looking website. Talk with them to insure that they have a fun and outgoing personality.
Not all entertainers are created equal.
Finding a quality entertainer is the hard part. Many entertainers are part-timers who entertain on the weekends to supplement their regular 9-5 incomes. When planning your event, a "full-time" entertainer is your best bet, as they will have the most experience and they will have a special interest in making your event the best it can be. After all, "full-time" entertainers are going to have more experience than someone who just performs part time on the weekends.
Make sure that you seek out an entertainer who is good with children.
Not everyone can captivate children while creating memories that will last a lifetime. Not all entertainers truly understand or work regularly with children to truly understand what it takes to keep their attention. Since children have short of attention spans, about 30 seconds or less, you want to make certain that you choose an entertainer who has a proven track record of success when working with kids. An entertainer whose experience involves mostly working with adults is unlikely to be able to retain the attention of young ones for 5 minutes, let alone 45 minutes. So make sure that the entertainer you choose likes kids and has a truly animated, fun-loving style.
Any entertainer worth should be able to provide references.
Entertaining a young audience is no easy task, so booking an entertainer who is just starting out is a risky endeavor and one that you should not take a chance on. All good entertainers will be able to provide references on request from past clients. Be wary of those who cannot or will not give you any references or recommendations.
You get what you pay for.
The better entertainers are worth paying for, even in a tough economy. The price of a good entertainer generally reflects the quality of the services they offer. So, while a less expensive entertainer who says they will beat any price, may reflect a financial savings, the rule of thumb in the children’s entertainment industry is that the cheaper the rate, the poorer and the more limited the performance. If you hire someone because of their "great price" but they end up putting the kids to sleep, you've actually overpaid. If pay a little more for a "full time professional entertainer" and the kids, adults and even the teenagers have a great time, then, you've gotten a great deal. In other words, "good" and "cheap" simply don't go together.
Finding magicians and children's entertainers in Texas (Plano, Richardson, Garland, Frisco, Rockwall, Sachse, Wylie, Allen, Irving, and surrounding Dallas / Ft. Worth areas) who are perfect for your event is the challenge. This is only a guide, and you’ll be well on your way to making an informed decision for your next party or event!
