Dallas / Fort Worth magician entertains with magic for parties
Over the years of performing magic shows for parties, I have been asked “Who were my mentors or influences of magicians?” Well, I can think of several top magicians who have inspired me to become a magician. The first one I think of is David Copperfield, as many would agree, as being the best illusionist on the planet. I loved his style, sophistication, and perfect timing.  The stage setting and lighting are so crucial to enhancing the show’s production including the dancers, stagehands, and other assistants which capture the since of wonder both young and old.

Copperfield’s long time assistant and choreographer, Joanie Spina, who passed away last year, put out a DVD (which I purchased) called “Get Your Act Together” discusses body movement and stage presence. It also talks about taking your performance to the next level. She also became a magician and helped to acknowledge women in magic.

Of course there is another Las Vegas magician that has been a great influence by not only myself, but other magicians around the world. And that is Jeff McBride. His use of masks, mime, kabuki theater, master of card manipulation, storytelling, and so much more has had an impact on the way I think about presenting my magic.



So what is it I learned from them and others? The truth of the matter is we are all influenced in one way or another. Whether we are watching TV, reading a book, talking to a friend, or someone we just met. We take a part of them with us and simulate whatever they said or done into our behavior, thoughts, and actions. In regards to magic, first is never to copy another magician’s style, magic routines, or character. Rather, you must look deep into your own personality and find your own strengths that make your magic appealing to an audience. Use the information and expand on it in order to find the best fit for you is the proper way to achieve mastery in any field.

We have an abundant of ideas all across the internet that you can search for and incorporate into any party that is designed to challenge creative fun! Also a great way to ensure everyone is having a fun time is to have an entertainer to come in to put on a show for the whole family.

A magician does just that. It’s amazing how the magician can keep a room full of kids watching for 30 minutes to one hour which is magic in itself. With so much audience interaction, funny stories and jokes, a colorful display of props, the kids will have a good time and the parents will be stress free.

One of the most important things to remember with hiring an entertainer for your child’s special day is you want to make sure they have the experience to perform and entertain children, be professional from giving you the details of their show to after they leave the party.

Go ahead and have a magic birthday party for your kid and they will have a memory to last a lifetime!
